That cannot be right. We know lots of things. But sceptics have argued since ancient times that we have no knowledge, and they are still at it. We can defeat one sceptical argument, but the sceptic is back five minutes later with another argument. So can we ever beat the sceptic? Must we make do with an ongoing series of victories and defeats? Or should we give up on knowledge and make do with something else, like reasonable belief?
